For me, photography is an expression of my delight in finding beauty…especially in unexpected places.
Portrait photography allows me to combine my unending search for beauty with something else I’m really passionate about: connecting with people. It’s hard to create an authentic image of someone before you really know and understand them. Not what do you do? but who are you?
I love watching people do what they’re most passionate about—the thing that lights them up from the inside. Witnessing that is one of my favorite ways to connect with people. As a photographer, I’m happiest when an image captures that spark…when you look at a photograph and think, Yes! that is quintessentially that person.
What lights you up? What are you so passionate about doing that you lose all track of time? When are you so in the flow that you’re not thinking or even doing, really, but just being? Whatever that spark is that lights you up from the inside, I want to capture that for you.
Sure, a portrait might be a flattering headshot to post on LinkedIn (I actually love corporate photography). But a portrait might also be a photo of you carving up fresh powder in Tahoe. Grounded in Warrior pose in Bali. Or wailing on the guitar on stage. I’ve been fortunate to travel all over the world photographing amazing people doing the things they are most passionate about. I’d love to capture you in your element!
